Your PDF is uploaded securely over HTTPS, decrypted in memory on our server, and permanently deleted immediately after you download the unlocked file.
We never store, share, or inspect your documents or passwords.
What if I don't know the password?
We cannot recover or brute-force passwords. You must already know the password to unlock the file.
What's the difference between an open and owner password?
An open password prevents anyone from viewing the PDF. An owner password only restricts printing, copying, or editing — the file opens freely.
Which encryption levels are supported?
RC4-40, RC4-128, AES-128, and AES-256 — essentially all standard PDF encryption levels.
Can I re-protect the file afterwards?
Yes — use our Protect PDF tool to apply a new password anytime.
